Continuing Education Resources

Nationwide, health and human service professionals are seeking ways to better educate their personnel and colleagues about evidence-based practices for tobacco dependence treatment, prevention, and control. The University of Arizona HealthCare Partnership is pleased to offer evaluated educational resources based on the recommendations of the US Public Health Service Clinical Practice Guideline: Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence, and the USDHHS Interagency Committee on Smoking and Health’s National Action Plan for Tobacco Cessation.

Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Instructor Certification

Upon successful completion of the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills program, certified individuals are encouraged to attend this four-hour workshop to learn the methods and techniques to teach the corresponding certification program and to evaluate participant performance. Participants receive multimodal educational resources to facilitate workshop instruction.
