Nationwide, health and human service professionals are seeking ways to better educate their personnel and colleagues about evidence-based practices for tobacco dependence treatment, prevention, and control. The University of Arizona HealthCare Partnership is pleased to offer evaluated educational resources based on the recommendations of the US Public Health Service Clinical Practice Guideline: Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence, and the USDHHS Interagency Committee on Smoking and Health’s National Action Plan for Tobacco Cessation.

Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification for Medical and Allied Health Professionals This four-hour adaptation of the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification program incorporates medical terminology, utilizes case studies, and provides health and human service professionals with comprehensive information on tobacco treatment medication.
Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills for Medical and Allied Health Professionals Instructor Certification Upon successful completion of the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills for Medical and Allied Health Professionals program, certified individuals are encouraged to attend this four-hour workshop to learn the methods and techniques to teach the corresponding certification workshop, to acquire comprehensive information on tobacco treatment medication, and to evaluate participant performance. Participants receive multimodal educational resources tailored to medical and allied health audiences to facilitate workshop instruction.
