Information About How To Use This Site

If you are new to using the Internet and World Wide Web this page will provide a basic introduction to using the features of the web browser to explore the resources available in the Tobacco Cessation Online Learning Center.

Using The Browser
 
Mouse over the numbers for an explanation of each function or scroll down the page to read about a text version of each one.

#1 - Back Button: Takes you back one page.

#2 - Forward: Takes you forward one page if you have used the back button.

#3 - Web Address: In this field, you'll find the actual Internet address of the page you are on.

#4 - Print: If you have a printer connected to your computer, you can use this button to print a hardcopy of the current web page.

#5 - Close the Window: Clicking the "X" in the upper right corner of the window will close the browser.

#6 - Scroll Bar: Use the scroll bar to see further down the page. Many web pages are longer than the average screen and some of the content won't be immediately visible.

#7 - Navigation Bar: This may look different in various parts of the Learning Center. Clicking on the various buttons will take you to the areas indicated, for example, Information Desk or Library Index.

#8 - Links: Links are active areas of text and graphics that, when clicked, will provide you with more information about that specific subject. Links can appear alone as at the top of this page, or they can appear within text.

#9 - Information: Information on the Internet can be presented with text, tables, graphics, and a variety of other ways. You can read, print, and even save this information using the browser.
